Illegal parrot trade is decimating Mexico’s parrot population. According to mongabay.com, illegal trapping of wild parrots is putting most of Mexico’s parrots on the endangered species list.
Make SURE that when you buy a parrot, it has a leg band that cannot be removed. This is a sure indication that the bird has been raised in captivity.

I was fortunate enough to be able to wade through the instructions for placing a picture in my header. I chose what to me is the gold standard of all parrots, the Congo African Grey, or cag, as their owners like to refer to them. It is generally the best talker of all the species.
